EFP Farm Tour ‘07 (cont.)

On July 31, 2007 the PEI Enhanced Environmental Farm plan program hosted a tour to showcase a number of environmental initiatives undertaken by farmers in the Eastern Kings area. The tour was co-sponsored by the Souris & Area Branch of the PEI Wildlife Federation, which is working with farmers in the Souris River Watershed in an Ecological Goods and Services project. The project is set up to assess the monetary value of measures farmers are taking to protect the watershed in that area.

Almost 100 participants joined the tour which visited the following locales:

• Lily Pond Farm - Kevin and Blair MacIsaac
• RA Rose Ltd - Myles and Boyd Rose
• East Point Wind Farm
• Pond's Edge Farm
